Wapek Muin Jij Beads
Trenna Mitchell began her beading journey in August 2024, guided and taught by Morgan Varis. Although she had always felt inspired to bead, it wasn’t until this moment that she finally stepped into the art form that would change her life.
Beading quickly became more than a craft—it became a source of healing, purpose, and reconnection after a tragic event earlier that year. Through creating, Trenna found her spirit again and discovered a new way to touch others with her work.
Her style is rooted in bold colour choices, with arrow and triangle patterns she naturally gravitates toward. She primarily works with fire line, strong threads, beading needles, seed beads in sizes 10 and 11, and wire.
Trenna attended her first market at the Indigenous PEI Christmas Market in 2024. Under her business name Wapek Muin Jij Beads, she continues to grow, create, and share pieces that carry meaning, resilience, and intention.
