Ashley Moore is a Mi’kmaq artist and mother of two. Her skills include basket weaving, quill art and beading. She has been learning alongside her mother, Noella Moore, since 2007 when she was only 12 years old.

Moore says: “I have always used my art as a way to strengthen my bond with my mother. Together we are reclaiming our culture—that was stolen from our family by the residential schools—and together we will pass on our art and knowledge to not only my children but whoever else wants to learn.
