Kay Sark: Quilled Eight Pointed Star

Matted Eight Pointed Star created using birchbark, dyed quills and sweetgrass.

Mi’kmaw artisan Kay Sark from Lennox Island First Nation began to build a deep connection to her culture through the art of quillwork. As she delved deeper into the art forms it became more than a bridge to her Mi’kmaq culture, it became a part of her identity.
