National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2025

Last year’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation ceremony was a meaningful and impactful gathering. On September 30, 2024, Mi’kmaq leadership, alongside Premier King, came together in front of the Shaw Building in Charlottetown, Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island) to observe a solemn moment of silence and reflection. As a mark of respect, the flags at the provincial building were lowered at noon.

A highlight of the ceremony was hearing from a residential school survivor, who shared her personal story—shedding light on the experiences of survivors and honoring their resilience.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to this important gathering. Plans for the 2025 ceremony are underway—check back later for updates.
