Indigenous PEI Store — 111B Grafton Street

I am a Mi’kmaq woman from Epekwitk, with family connections to Lennox Island. I learned the art of basket weaving from my mother. What began as a family tradition has become a source of peace and creativity in my life. Each basket I weave is a reflection of my culture, carrying with it both the teachings of the past and the joy I find in designing new patterns. Basket making allows me to share a part of who I am, to keep tradition alive, and to create something both beautiful and meaningful for others to enjoy.

Connect with artisans as they share their creative process, culture, and stories. Each session offers an opportunity to witness traditional skills and engage with the artisan behind the work.
