Orange Shirt Day – Lennox Island First Nation

Join us on September 28th at the John J. Sark Memorial School gym for Orange Shirt Day, a day of remembrance and honouring the survivors of the Canadian Residential School system.

The event will commence with a lunch at 12:30pm, after which we will host an opening prayer and a smudging ceremony, allowing us to pay our respects and honour the survivors.

During this solemn occasion, we will take a moment to remember those who have passed on into the spirit world, as well as light the Honour Candles as a symbol of our commitment to never forget those who went through the Residential School system.

The event will be finished with a Resiliency Walk, representative of our collective strength and determination.

For further information please contact Jamie Thomas at 902-831-2779 or Tracy MacLennan at 902-831-2711.

Let us stand together in unity and ensure that the stories and experiences of Residential School survivors are never forgotten. 🧡
